Ganderbal, Apr 01 (KNO): People in Sonamarg are facing immense inconvenience and losses because Jammu and Kashmir Bank has not started its operation at the tourist destination. The branch and its ATM remain closed in winters when Sonarmag is closed for visitors due to closure of the road by heavy snow. A group of shopkeepers told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a month has passed since Sonamarg was thrown open for tourists, authorities in the bank are yet to restart its banking facility due to which tourists, locals and shopkeepers are facing inconvenience. Sonamarg is witnessing huge footfall of tourists but lack of banking facilities is causing losses to tourism stakeholders. Such is the demand that locals want the facility to be operated for 24 hours. They demanded the authorities at the bank look into it at the earliest—(KNO)
